Sounds like gingivitis that has advanced to periodontal disease. Start brushing and now! You will bleed but don't let that deter you, after a few days your gums will start to strengthen and stop bleeding. I'm no dentist, but I had bleeding gums back when I was a teen and not brushing well, it went away really fast.
