can I use Listerine mouthwash yet?!

Question: Can I use Listerine mouthwash yet?
I just got 3 tooth extractions done and got stitches last Wednesday..so a week ago tomorrow. but can I use Listerine yet or no? they still hurt a little.

Answers:

Better to use warm salty water for another week or so. Listerine is very acidic and will not help with healing.

Call your dentist and ask him if it is OK. They usually advise you to start slow and use a rinse of warm water and salt and not slosh the water around a lot until the healing is starting to take place. (They don't want to loosen any blood clots but, you had stitches and that may make a difference). Just to be sure, call the dentist or his service and they will call you back. I would think a week is enough time but I am not a dentist so would call him to be certain.

listerine will help clean it out. I don't see why not.

but try rinsing with salt water first and see how that goes. cleanliest is the key to healing this faster.

yes its ok to keep the teeth clean with mouthwash now since its been a week.
