Question: Getting 4 Wisdom Teeth Removed?

Im getting 4 wisdom teeth taken out (2 one week then 2 the next) and the dentist is going to have to cut the gums.. It's a local anesthetic. I asked my dentist about pain she says you don't feel a thing apart from the needle. So my questions are is this true? What are your experiences? Do the stitches hurt after wards?

I was really nervous so I asked to be knocked out for the actual surgery. Afterward when I woke up, I didn't feel any pain right away, but you can taste blood in your mouth. They will prescribe you vicodin or some type of powerful pain killer so you'll be ok.You defiantly want to make sure you take your pain meds before the anesthetic wears off. Make sure you ICE your cheeks A LOT this will keep you from swelling up like a chipmunk and will also cut down on some pain. The stitches don't exactly hurt... But you can feel them and they can be a bit annoying. They are the kind that dissolve so don't be alarmed if they get lose or fall out.
My brother had it done just like you are going to, with only a shot for pain, and he was fine. His experience was about like mine except for the fact that he was awake for the surgery.
