Answers:

I had the same worry before i could actually see my gums receding and panicked more as i didn't have a dentist at the time either!

Anyways i would suggest brushing your teeth more than twice a day. i did mine in the morning, as soon as i finished work, after dinner and bedtime, sounds a bit much i know but it worked for me! do the same as i did/do, you can make an exception for the after work brushing depending what hrs you work as i finish in the early afternoon.

also use listerine total mouth wash now and nothing else as my dentist told me this, and i only use that on morning and bed time brushing. my dentist approved of my methods and now my gums have gone back to "near" normal- not receding!

It depends on how "early" the gum disease is. In many cases, you will need to start with a professional deep cleaning from the hygienist in your dentist's office. No matter what you use at home, it will be nearly impossible to get below the gum line, where the disease originates. But that's what needs to be done, and the dentist or hygienist can do it.

If you are in the very early stages, you may be able to manage the problem at home. Mouthwash can help, but it is far from the most important step, which is flossing. You need to floss every night, and you should do it the right way. Insert the floss between your teeth, and rub back and forth from gum to tip, bending the floss slightly around one of the teeth. Then bend the floss the other way and work on the other side of the space. Go as deep as you can into your gums (don't overdo it so much that it hurts terribly, but you want to get below the gum line if you can).

Flossing, plus brushing twice a day for two minutes each time, can take care of very early gum disease. But you need to see a dentist to determine how much treatment you need and whether you can do it yourself. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

You should start but getting a quad scale by your dental office. than asking if they have any peri-dex mouth wash or prescription strenth rinse. flossing everyday and you should try out a sonicare toothbrush!! they are the best. after that you should go every 3-4 months for a perio maintenance follow up cleaning. OR you can ask to be referred to a periodontist for a 2nd opinion.

work in a dental office

USE ONLY A SOFT BRUSH AND BR GENTLE WITH ONE, FLOSS DAILY AND CHANGE THE BRUSH EVERY 3-4 MONTHS.

take your dentists advice, brush your teeth twice daily.

LOL see a dentist, I'm sure he'll know.
