getting my braces tomorrow, need to know what they do, how long it takes?!?!

They hold your trousers up darling. Rainbow sound nice - they were very popular with the scooer boys back in the 1960s. They don't hurt unless they come unclipped from the waistband and ping up to smack you in the eye.

I will warn you, it takes a while to get them on (30 minutes, maybe? I warn you, it will feel longer, but I say again, they ARE worth it), your teeth will feel sore, its not a fantastic experience. But after a couple of days (up to a week with me) your teeth will feel okay and you will forget you even have braces.
They open your mouth and put glue on your teeth to add the brackets and then the thread the metal thread thing through and tighten. It WILL feel weird and not nice, little bit of pain, I did hate them to start with. It is so worth it now though, I am bragging but my teeth look so good, especially compared to what they were.
Colours totally depend on you :)

First they use special cement to glue the brackets on. Then they put brackets on your molars. Then they put a wire through the brackets and tighten it. To answer your question regarding the pain, after they tighten them, yes it does hurt and it will for a few weeks but you can used to it. As far as color goes, that's up to you.

Well if you are getting them both on the top and bottom at the same time it will take a while, maybe 2 hours. They put something in your mouth to pry it open. This is the worst part!!! It is annoying and makes you gag. It doesn’t hurt to put the braces on and when you’re done it will take some getting used to. It won’t hurt that bad, only when you chew for the first week. You won’t be able to chew ANYTHING!! So get some pudding and soup. When you go back in to get them tightened it wont hurt as bad as when you got them on. It’s really weird at first but after a few months you will be used to it. I think the retainer is worse! lol Get hot pink it's so cute!!!

It takes about 45 minuets I think. And it doesn't hurt actually getting them on but it hurts like hell about an hour later. As for colour get anything u want mine are gold.

To put them on they just put a small dollop of glue on them brace then place the bracket on. They then put the wire on and put the colours on the brackets

Experience

I got mine a few months ago. It's painless and doesn't really take too long. They cement the bands around your very back teeth, glue the brackets on your teeth, put the wire on and then the little rubber colors around the brackets. You'll find that they're difficult to eat with once they get tightened. They cut up the insides of your mouth at first too, but you'll get used to it. And for color, go with a light color. Right now I have light purple and I looove ittt :D

people usually have braces for 18-24 months.
they dont really do anything - the dentist will move your teeth into the correct position, a nd the braces just hold them there until the roots grow back and the teeth stay there on their own.

get your favourite colour. if you cant choose, go for rainbow.
