Dental care takes a lot of time. Even if the dentist has a hygienist do your cleanings, the rest of the work (examination, probes, fillings, whatever), is done by the dentist personally. That costs money. Plus, most dental offices these days need several other people on staff and a lot of expensive equipment, so you wind up paying for those as well.

You do know the number one expense you are paying at the dental office is taxes.

The question you should be asking is why are the income taxes in the USA getting so expensive?

In 2010 total government spending was 45% of our total economy.

In IL the state run by democrats raised income taxes 67%. Don't you think dentists will offer less deals with the government keeps taking more and more of their income?

It is a fact the number one expense you pay when you go to the dentist is taxes.
