How do I convince the orthodontists to have my retainer taken out?!

its your mouth, your paying them, just ask them sternly, with no doubt for them to take it out.

simple! with mine, they tried to convince me to get the permanent one but i said no, they gave me the invisaline ones but they were uncomfortable to wear at nite, so i convinced them to give me the old fashioned wire ones and just ignored them when they said to wear it during the day, my teeth are still straight, i wear it for a week out of every month. for a year now.

Super M.... you parents have paid all this money to get your teeth straightened and you want to ruin it by getting rid of the retainer.

You won't have to wear it for the rest of your life. But you have invested all this time at the Orthodontist getting them straightened. Don't skip the last step.

My bottom teeth are very crooked. They are very difficult to clean and keep tarter from building on them even by brushing and flossing. You don't want crooked teeth.

Just do it and you'll be done with it.

Just tell him. You don't need to convince him. You're paying him so you can decide what you want and not want on your teeth.
