Braces and what not????????????????!

Question: Braces and what not????????????????
So, I am hopefully going to get braces soon. My teeth are bad and I'm excited because I need to get this done now while i'm still young. (I'm 15.)

I am not sure yet, me and my mom have to see what the dentist says, but they may have to pull some teeth because my mouth is so tiny. I had teeth pulled in the past when I was really little because of bad infections, but I think those were baby teeth. And so that might not help at all.

I am SO scared to go through that pain again.
I remember the lady numbed me over and over and I could still feel the whole thing!
It was terrible!

I DON'T want that again! Especially if I get more than one tooth pulled.

And I know I will be getting some fillings too. But those don't hurt as bad.

Anyway, my question is WILL they put me to sleep before they pull? (If they pull?)

Does all insurance cover it? Or do we have to pay out of pocket? If so, how much out of pocket will we have to pay?

Thanks:)

:) yeah defo better having them when you're young unless your into ugly betty stuff ;)
i have a small mouth too and they said they thought about maybe having to take mine out but they didn't. No they don't put you to sleep they are not harming the teeth or putting anything in them they are placing things on them and may drill but the duration does not hurt believe me :) you just have to have your mouth open for an hour lol but they have equipment which will pull ur mouth open for that long. They wont put you to sleep if they pull out a tooth they may give u numbing medicine but wont put you to sleep and trust me you wouldnt want to be put to sleep the after effect ent that good!:L
Health service covers because your a child you get free dental care so don't worry x

Wow your dentist is dodgy! lol. I have had two root canals..one severe with a major abscess, fillings and a wisdom tooth pulled and no pain..nada zip nothing!...my dentist is brillant. I would try the clear braces..they are so much better! :)

No. You will be awake when they pull your teeth.
It depends on why they are pulling your teeth and what kind of insurance you have.
Braces are not covered by insurance unless they are 100% necessary because you cannot eat without getting your teeth fixed (Very rare).

it is super painful and hurts for months afterwards. You cant even talk for the first few days. And i am a girl and you are an *** you dont go around just saying people are gay

ok so i went through exactly the same of you! i have just had my braces taken off and i had them for nearly 2 years and i had to have 2 teeth out before i had them fitted. do not worry having your teeth taken out isn't exactly the nicest thing but it doesn't hurt and i was so scared before too but it was all for nothing. also my brace was well worth it! my teeth were horrible and now there lovely.

you will not get to sleep i shouldn't think. i didn't. but they do give you injections that don't hurt to numb the pain so you cant feel anything all you can feel is your head moving from side to side as they are pulling them out. the only thing i didnt like was the blood after it bled for ages and i had to bite on this tissue stuff aha:) but it's fine it's worth it and it doesn't hurt at all. if your teeth are really bad everything should come on the NHS. hope this helps x
