Could my teeth grow back?!

Question: Could my teeth grow back?
I had some problems with my wisdom teeth so I had them taken out. Then four new ones grew back in their place. The dentist said it was very unusual for that to happen.

I've lost a few other teeth since then. Is it considered possible for them to grow back, or is it more likely that wisdom teeth would grow back rather than other kinds of teeth? If so, why?

Wow I wish I could grow a new tooth for my cracked tooth. You're lucky!

Hi there, teeth do not just grow in adulthood. Deciduous Teeth (baby) develop when you are a fetus in your mothers womb, Permanent teeth develop when you are a young person from the age of 6 until 25. Wisdom teeth develop in your jaw when you are around 9. Every child develops 20 teeth. Every adult normally develops 32 teeth including their wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth erupt from under the gums from the age of 18-25 on average. It is impossible for you to grow new teeth at any age unless you are under 10 years old.
Okay I am pretty sure you have either had hidden spare second wisdom teeth which were impacted in your Mandible (lower jaw) and getting your visible wisdom teeth out created space for these extra ones. But they would have always been there since childhood. Or the probable fact is that you got second molars extracted and your unerupted third molars which are your wisdom teeth actually erupted naturally into the space. The dentist may have noted that it was third molars he had taken out but actually it was your second molars and the teeth that came through were your wisdom teeth anyway. I have seen some patients with an extra wisdom tooth or only 1 wisdom tooth, and the others were so deep into the bone that they would stay there forever. Everybody is different. It is impossible for teeth to just grow so you will NOT grow new teeth to replace the others that you lost. If a tooth suddenly appears then you have teethed and a tooth that has always been there has came through.

Hi - wisdom teeth are the ones that tend to surprise us and have extra ones, missing ones, funny shaped ones etc, so I suspect that you wont get other ones i place of other missingones. However - it is most likely that your dentist will have taken xrays of your teeth that would have showed up extra teeth - so i guess he would have mentioned any extras!

After losing your milk teeth (baby teeth) and getting your permanent teeth, it would be unusual for any of them to be replaced if you lose them. That's why they're called permanent because it's the last set you get.
