Yes it depends on the person and how much anesthesia they give you. If they give you the proper amount, you should be out 4-6 hours as you stated

A lot depends on you and on the practitioner doing the job. I'll advise paying your dentist a visit and he will take an x-ray of the tooth. Many factor determine how difficult an extraction is and therefore how long you spend on the chair and how you feel afterward.
The depth of the tooth in the bone, your gender, you race, the presence of the penultimate tooth, the angulation of the tooth, the position of a bony structure called the buttress, the shape of the roots, how large they are and how scattered or straight they are and a few others.
So, give it a go--- talk to your dentist for a risk assessment.

If you bleeded alot then you'll get some medicine from the doctor. It takes at least a week to feel better with the wisdom teeth been removed without numb.
