They won't be THAT painful to where you can't go to school. You just can't baby yourself, or else the pain will never go away. Plus, it isn't that bad when you first get them, however, when they tighten them, it's a little worse. When you get spacer, it's worse than a little worse. And when you get rubberbands, OW!!!!!!!!!!!! Those things hurt worse than anything they ever did to you, for the first 3 days at least!
hmmmm, i would get in the summer, if you're anxious. it's only a few months diference, and it will give you more time to get used to them, so you're not so conscious, and yes, the pain can be pretty bad for the first few days.
