What do you think of my teeth? (Honest answers please)?!

Question: What do you think of my teeth? (Honest answers please)?
I neglected my teeth for quite a long time but now i regret it because they got pretty bad. I started going to the dentist so i've got them improved a bit. You might get freaked out by them but surely there are people with worse teeth then me? And of course im hoping i can get them a lot more improved asap

I'm going to buy Crest 3D Advanced Vivid/Seal White strips which will hopefully whiten them then i can get my fillings redone. i will also ask if my dentist can file down some of my teeth where they are see through so it don't look as obvious and improves their appearance. Finally, I'm hoping he'll say i can have braces and maybe even rubber bands to correct my overbite and straighten the top teeth because they are REALLY REALLY crooked and i've never seen anyone else have top teeth quite as crooked as mine :/

Please be honest about what you think of my teeth because if you are not then that won't help me at all. I'm VERY self conscious about them and want to know if you saw me in person and i started talking to you and you saw my teeth like that what would you think? Would it bother you that much or are they not as bad as i think they are? :S

(The pics were taken with my phone so the quality isn't very good and they look white but are actually really yellow)

(They are VERY close up)

Hello Dawn, Id first like to say, im glad that you started to go to the dentist now, it's never
too late to start taking action!

If I saw you and started talking to you, I wouldn't even care about your teeth. As long as they are not black, terribly stained, and you don't have bad breath, then you would be fine to me.

I have read the replies above me, and I was shocked at how insensitive and cruel some of these were.

Now, I don't have prefect teeth, mine are not all perfectly straight, but I keep great care of them. I brush at least twice a day, and I floss daily. Make sure to be doing those. I also use a listerine mouth wash. (Stay away from sugar drinks too!!)

Regardless of what the person above me said, I think whitening would be a good idea. Why? If you insecure with the yellow on your teeth then it's enough of a reason to whiten them. I used crest white strips and they worked MIRACLES for me.

If tooth975 was my orthodontist I would have made a complaint about him/her to the dental board. Some dentists do not understand proper manner at all, it's just more reason to leave there chair's and get second opinions.

Patients need to be shown what they need done, they also need a proper explination. These dentists need to provide proof, and be sensitive to there clients needs.

Do not worry, you are not alone, and your teeth are NOT the worst I have seen. There are plenty people who are having problems with there teeth, you are not alone, and you should not be insecure!!

ALWAYS get a second opinion at a dentist, and find someone you trust! Do not let people do unnecessary work!

I'd think you need corrective treatment, maybe even surgery as your top jaw is really quite deformed, but as a person I wouldn't think anything bad of you, that was just your lot in life.

Don't "hope they say" - tell them what you want doing.

Don't waste your time and money getting your teeth whiten first because your teeth are so bad that anyone who looks at you will notice that first. If you whiten your teeth that will only draw more attention to how bad they are and look. You did want the truth, didn't you?

Your upper arch is so constricted that it appears you used to suck your thumb. If you did not have a thumb/finger habit, then your arches are extremely under developed and need to be expanded a lot. Expansion will widen your upper jaw so that there will be room for your teeth to line up properly, eliminate the excessive flare of your front teeth, and round out your upper jaw so that it is more like a Roman Arch (horseshoe shaped) instead of like McDonald's arches (wide in back and narrow in front). If you do get braces, just make sure you don't let anyone extract your premolars.

Do you want a more attractive smile? Who wouldn't? Even people with perfect teeth want their smiles to look better. Some people think that the only way to whiten their teeth is through professional dental treatments. The good news is that there are lots of teeth whitening measures that you can do that cost very little money and can be done at home. Why spend lots of money if you do not have to? There are many teeth whitening techniques, like the ones you're about to learn about, that can become part of your normal teeth maintenance regimen.

You have to avoid foods and drinks that are darker in color. It is well-known that coffee and tea stain teeth. Foods such as beets cause the same problems. Any foods that have dark juices will color your teeth. This is why you should eat and drink less of these types of things. The less of these foods and drinks you consume, the easier time you will have brushing away other discolorations.

The higher your intake of these things, the more complicated it will be for you to maintain pearly, white teeth. If you can't give up your soda drinks completely, then at least have it through a straw.

Quite naturally, you may have already tried one of the teeth whitening products that can be purchased from your local drugstore. They can come with either whitening strips, gels or trays. Naturally, these products probably will not work like the ones that are used when you get your teeth professionally whitened. At the same time, these products are usually quite a bit cheaper than a trip to the dentist and you can use them whenever you have the time. However, the products that whiten teeth are much more expensive than ordinary oral care products such as toothpaste. You should also do some research on the different products that are available before you actually buy anything.

If at all possible, always drink plenty of water. When you drink water, it helps to rinse away any foreign particles that may be left from food. You will also find the benefit of being more hydrated. Water is far better for your body than juices, coffee, soda or tea. Your body will thank you for it as it will be much healthier. Drinking more water is great for teeth whitening, too, as it is completely see through and thus won't stain your teeth. The more water you take in, the more those stains from all those dark drinks will disappear.

The fact is that there are many inexpensive teeth whitening methods that are not costly. Yes, of course if you can afford it a professional can get you the results you desire, but why would you even want to if you can do the same thing at home for less money? Don't settle with an unflattering smile when there is a lot you can do about it. Your new bright white smile will emanate you health!
