if what you mean by rings is metal rings cemented around your entire tooth, then all that happens when they take them off it basically pull it off. it feels like the pressure when they tighten your braces, its mostly the sound of them coming off, kinda like a popping noise, that scared me. but after they take all the metal out, they sand/grind the remaining cement off (completely painless). i didnt bleed but i didn't ask if anyone ever has. if you take care of your teeth the most pain you will feel is a mild pressure, their not going to pull out your teeth. I guarantee it. when they are off, your going to be running your tongue over your teeth for the next month. it feels great to have them off, oh and congratulations on getting them off, i hope i helped you

I had braces about fifty thousand years ago, when every tooth had a complete ring. They have a kind of plier they use. One part rests against the bottom (biting surface) of your tooth, and the other one presses down on the top of the band. Squeezing breaks the cement bond and the bracket and ring slide off. It doesn't hurt at all and doesn't bleed, although it does feel weird. Your teeth will feel incredibly small afterward. You might want to see your dentist soon afterward, to check your overall dental health and to get off any bits of cement the orthodontist may have missed. Good luck!
