Question: How long does it take fo your gums to "shrink" back to normal after removing braces?

drink alot of milkshakes and brush them/floss daily and it should be only about a week at most. thats how it was for me ;0 good luck
They don't. Unless they're swollen due to lack of brushing your teeth. It happened to me...pretty disgusting surprise when I got them off, it looked like my gums had overgrown into the gaps of my braces. It look a lot of constant and furious brushing to get rid of.
With very good oral hygiene it should be a matter of weeks or days. You can speed the process by seeing your dentist. If you practice excellent hygiene and your gums remain inflamed, definitely see your dentist.
