What does it feel like if you need to have a root canal done?!

Question: What does it feel like if you need to have a root canal done?
Would I be able to tell if I needed a root canal? Would it look different than the other teeth? Would it hurt?

Right now I have a strange tingling in my cheek and gums, but it might be coming from the fact that I've been so nervous about this one tooth and have been playing with it for the past week. My tooth doesn't hurt if I push on it. If I needed a root canal would it hurt if I pushed on it?

With a good dentist, skilled at giving the local anaesthetic, it doesn't hurt at all.

Not necessarily. Pain is only a symptom of the problem, not the indicator.
If the tooth is visibally decayed and/or cracked you could have a deeper, unseen problem.
Please dont wait until the nerve is exposed by decay. You will feel, what I describe as a "cracking" noise in the tooth and severe...SEVERE!! pain will follow. You dont want to feel this kind of pain.

Get to a dentist for a check. Nothing is worth molar teeth pain.

Good luck
