Question: Is my tooth causing my throat ache?
I'm a massive teeth grinder and I know I grind my teeth REALLY hard. Couple of days ago I half-woke up WHILE I was in the process of grinding my teeth (basically it felt like I was biting into a brick and trying to break it. The noise felt like nails on chalk). Later that day I felt one of my teeth slightly move. Since then I've been getting on/off pains from that tooth and now my whole jaw feels really tight when I yawn and when I laugh or stretch my neck, my throat hurts. Not like the throat ache you get when you have the flu, but.. it's different..
Do you think my tooth, which I firmly believe that i've either chipped or made it loose, causing my throat pains? What can I do about it? I have a dentist appointment but not till Tuesday next week.. It's friday 4:33am here..oh I just yawned now and my throat feels like it's burning.

First, when I'm a recovering grinder! I can not tell you how bad it is for your teeth, but I'm sure you know that. I used to grind so bad that on one or two occasions, I woke up not being able to open my mouth because I had locked my jaw. There are many things that could be causing your throat pain, but more likely than not is it related to your teeth grinding. Your grinding could have made the muscles in and around your throat sore, you could have brusied something, etc. Also, if you've damaged your tooth as you think, tooth pain can radiate into many different areas of the mouth including the throat. My suggestion, go to the dentist so he can assess the damage and get fitted for a mouth guard to wear at night. Teeth grinding does some major wear and tear so you want to minimize it as much as possible!
