What is this on my gum, and how did it get there?!

Question: What is this on my gum, and how did it get there?
This question might sound strange, but above one of my teeth, on my gum, is a raised sore or something. It is white, circular, and it stings whenever it gets touched with food. It developed a week or five days ago, and I generally have good hygiene, but I'm not sure what it is. It might be something like a cold sore, but I'm not sure.

What is this?

Well, from your description, it sounds like a mouth ulcer.

And rinse your mouth with warm salt water 4 times a day for a few days. This will help lower the infection, swelling and pain.

1/2 teaspoon of table salt in 6 oz. of warm water.

swish mixture in your mouth for a few seconds then spit it out. Repeat 3 or 4 times.

Good luck

That sounds like an ulcer. Take care - brushing around it will sting - so be gentle. And use warm, salty water mouth rinses to sooth it and clean it well
usually they last 7-10 days - but can last longer.
hope it gets better soon

Yes it is something similar to a cold sore. Just leave it alone, maybe brush your gums more frequent, and it will go away soon.

It sounds like it may be a tooth absess.
