will they use general or local anesthetic?!
Question: Will they use general or local anesthetic?
Answers:
90% of them are done under local in the hospital and anything that is more clinically complicated is done under general.
At the hospital you will have a special xray that shows all of your jaw and all four wisdom teeth and the judgement is made on that xray. It will be discussed with you and they will make another appointment for the procedure.
They are skilled at getting them out under local and use a good dose of local and are very quick and it will be over before you know it. The local means that you feel nothing only the sensations of what they are doing.
You'll be fine - honestly. I had all my wisdom teeth taken out (all unerupted) under local anaesthetic at the dentist. It wasn't fun but it didn't hurt and it wasn't terrible. I am keen to avoid general anaesthetics because they are so much riskier than a local. Whatever anaesthetic you have, it won't hurt at the time but it will be sore afterwards for maybe a week or so. Hope it all goes well for you.
