Pain is fun - it takes your mind off the anxiety.

If you have the wisdom tooth pulled, ask about the anesthetic which causes a sort of "amnesia" - it's neat - and it doesn't make you sick or anything. It's the closest thing to not even having an anesthetic.

They will most likely take an xray of all the teeth at the same time called a panoramic xray.
This shows where your wisdom teeth are.

The xray is very easy. You wont feel a thing.
They will also look inside your mouth to see if the gum tissue is irritated or if there are other problems with them. When they are looking in your mouth, if the tissue is sore now, it may be a little sensitive when they are in there. Overall, it should be a very easy appointment for you.
Plus, you will be able to see what the wisdom teeth look like on an xray!

They will certainly want to take some x-rays and they will also want to do an oral exam. Do not worry though the exam will be nothing more then the doctor looking in mouth, asking you questions, and making notes of his/her findings. They will not do any kind of treatment until they first talk to you about their findings and what they believe will be the best course of action.
