Question: What are the requirements to become a vet dentist or animal dentist?
I Am interested in doing animal dentistry and want to know the schooling requirements to become a vet dentist.

There is no legal title relating to dentristy in veterinary medicine. In order to provide dental care for animals, you must be a licensed veterinarian or working under the direction of a licensed veterinarian as dentistry falls under the definition of "the practice of veterinary medicine" in most states. Once you have earned your degree in veterinary medicine and become licensed as a veterinarian, you can specialize in dentistry by going through several years of in-depth experience and training in dentistry and passing the board exams for the American Veterinary Dental College. Your other option is to become a credentialed veterinary technician in your state and then earn your specialty credentials in veterinary dentistry through the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians.
