I think ive ruined my teeth :(?!

Question: I think ive ruined my teeth :(?
Im 14, and im a Sugar addict.. :/ I love chocolate especially - and had a chocolate bar, sweets - usually something like starburst, and crisps after school most days :/ I brush my teeth every morning but dont do it very well as my gums are very sensitive and bleed quite easily, and i forget to clean them at night alot of the time even though i know its more important to cleanthem at night :/ - im just like my dad, and my dad has awful teeth now and i know i dont want to end up having teeth like him! Ive still got a few baby teeth left - so im glad about that really, ive had 4 abcesses on my gum on the same teeth, and that tooth was rotting was was removed, and now i think ive got another abcess coming on my top back tooth. Please help - how can i save my teeth!

Answers:

First, stop with the candy (sorry). Ok, small, repeat -SMALL amount of chocolate occasionally. Next get a soft bristle brush to use and a toothpaste that has a desensitize property to it, such as sensodyne. Use warm water, so it doesnt shock your teeth. Get in the habit of brushing after every meal, snack and especially at night. Do what ever you need to make this a habit. Same time every night, or right before you get into bed, or after your late night snack. Floss daily at least also, an invest in a waterpik. They have a model now that you can use in the shower, so when your taking yours, you can use it at the same time. Here is a site that carries them, just for an idea, shop around for a good deal or better model:

Most important, see a dentist regularly an when you have a problem.

Cut down on the sugar and keep a chart of when your brushing. Try to brush after every meal/snack(: hope I helped.

there is no saving them...all love is lost :((((
