I have braces too, along with other dental surgery. For the first few weeks you can expect to feel that - I felt like I would never be able to eat again. Just take painkillers and rough it out and eventually you get used to it, good luck.

First of all you should be appreciating your mom for getting you braces. Braces are a luxury and there's many people in the world that would want them but cannot afford. Other than that yes braces do hurt when you get them on. It will take 1-3 week for it to heal. When you go back to get them tightened depending on how bad your teeth are they will hurt again. Soon they won't hurn at all once you had them for a while. They will feel like you were practically born with them and you won't remember what it feels like without them until you get them off. Just take Tylenol or a pain killer that should help with the scorching pain.

had braces for 1 year and 2 months

Trust me, everyone hates them in the beginning. Eventually you'll hardly even notice they're there, not including times when your mouth will hurt due to adjustments they make. In the end, you will be SOOOO happy you got them. You'll have such nice teeth when people around you will all have ugly, crooked teeth.
Where exactly is it cutting you? At the back of your mouth where there are wires or where a bracket (metal piece glue to tooth) is? I wouldn't be too worried about it...sometimes you have to get used to it - your gums toughen up. But if it persists for too long then I would definitely have them check it out.

Braces for five years (from age 7-12).

You're gonna need to go back to the ortho to get them to fix whatever it is that's cutting you
As for the other pain, I had braces before, it goes away soon and you'll be thankful for getting them in a couple years
Trust me on this one
