I'm getting braces soon like next week and they have to pull 5 teeth out wi!

Question: I'm getting braces soon like next week and they have to pull 5 teeth out will it hurt?
So, I'm getting braces next week at my orthodontist and their putting braces over the teeth that won't get pulled out. I'm just wondering will it hurt? And if they give me laughing gas will that hurt also?

Either way, they are going to give you local anaesthetic. If you have that, then it won't hurt. Though people do get distressed when they are getting teeth pulled out and won't cooperate with the dentist much. So there are two choices;
1. Laughing gas. You are still fully awake but you will feel a bit more relaxed and less nervous. Though this might not work for everyone and in some people it may even make them more agitated.
2. Sedation. The dentist gives you a needle in the arm. Sedation makes you feel very sleepy, you are effectively "out of it". During the extractions you won't have a clue what's going on and you won't remember anything that happened afterwards. Though I think you have to be over a certain age to get this.

Hopeful dentist :)
edit; forgot to mention that I have actually had four teeth taken out with laughing gas before and I did work experience at an oral surgeons.

I just got my braces off after having them for two years. I also had 5 teeth removed before the process. I had 3 wisdom teeth and 2 normal teeth pulled. I was given anesthesia to fall asleep. It is a needle in your arm that doesn't cause any pain. You will most likely be asked to count backward from 10 and you will fall asleep before you finish.

When I woke up I was very drowsy, you should bring someone with you that you trust. I had my dad take me and he picked up my prescription painkillers afterward. You will be given something like Tylenol 3 to make the pain subside. As long as you take the pills when you are supposed to, you shouldn't feel any pain. My face got a little fat on one side and I felt drowsy for a few days, so it would be best to take a few days off of work or school. I took an entire week just to be safe.

What ever you choose, you will get numbing shots in your mouth. That takes the pain away so that you don't feel them pulling the teeth out. If you get laughing gas, you might feel drowsy or like you're flying or something completely different. The feeling's different for everyone. If you get sedation, you will be asleep and not feel anything at all. Either way it won't be that bad because you're getting local anesthetic.

had 9 teeth pulled (had laughing gas)

I've had teeth pulled out with and without laughing gas....I had an extra tooth where they gave me laughing gas, and I felt very little pain, mostly where the root of my tooth was. Once I had a loose tooth that just wouldn't come out and my orthodontist yanked it right out of there and that kinda hurt haha. So no, it shouldn't hurt too badly. They wouldn't want you to feel any pain because that would make their job harder and more uncomfortable for you.
