Question: Does tempt fillings work the same as the real ones?

okay i have a cavity and since things are abit rough i can not afford to go to the dentist at the moment i know eventually i would have to go to the dentist even though i am scared about going since being told the whole process the drilling and needle for the numbing freaks me out but for now until i can afford the dentist i have to use temporary cavity filling you can get in the stores i was wondering does the temporary filling work the same as the real filling the dentist use?

will using the temporary filling help prevent the cavity from getting worse?

once their is a cavity, you can't just cover it up. it may look better but you are not helping because it will just get worse over time. a small cavity will grow no matter what, that's what the drilling is all about, to remove the soft tooth cavity from your mouth. and don't worry about the needles. dentists will place a numbing gel on your tissues so you wont feel the needle as much, and once your numb, you don't feel the drilling. the best bet is to do some research for dental offices, visit their sites for coupons, some offer great discounts for new patients
