How can I get my teeth straighter WITHOUT braces, Invisalign, veneers, etc?!

Question: How can I get my teeth straighter WITHOUT braces, Invisalign, veneers, etc?
My dentist said my teeth aren't crooked enough for her to cover braces with medicare. I was wondering if there's a way to get my teeth straighter. It's just the front teeth on top that are messed up. One of my front two teeth sticks out noticeably and it drives me nuts. My family can't afford Invisalign or veneers, etc. Is there any other alternatives? I heard pushing on your teeth work....but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

Retainer :) it might cost a few but worth it I think :)

Get a retainer. It's like detachable braces which are much cheeper. You can also put them only at night and remove it by day. Youre teeth will be straightened in a month or 2

asj ur dentist about retainers, u were them at night, and at first they might be reaaly tight and uncomfortable, which means it moving th teeth, or u can just get braces on ur front teeth i had that :)

Get a retainer? I don't see how that can work. I had Invisalign. Best investment I ever made. The retainers are actually my last set of trays. That means my retainer is already perfectly straight.

It's been over 5 years now and I've had a couple of crowns to replace massive silver fillings. After that my top retainer didn't fit and my dentist had to take a new impression to have a new upper arch made. The material used to make it is not nearly as strong as Invisalign material, but what the dentist told me is, it's the same way retainers are made for people who have had traditional metal braces.

So just "get a retainer" isn't going to do you any good. Even if it's the old school turtle shell looking thing with a wire, that wire pushes on the teeth in an attempt to keep them straight. Man, what an awfully crude appliance! Anyhoo, without having straightened teeth, that pushing action might cause other problems for you because it's pushing a crooked tooth against the other teeth.

You see, with braces, metal ones or Invisalign, all the teeth are moved in unison to make room for the crooked tooth so it can be twisted into a natural position. If you start pressing on a crooked tooth and you haven't made room for it by moving the other teeth, I think you're asking for problems.

Personally, it don't think there is a dentist in the world that would make you a "retainer" under those circumstances.
