Will braces and rubber bands affect my singing?!
Question: Will braces and rubber bands affect my singing?
Answers:
The first week of wearing braces is associated with some discomfort. However, once you are adjusted to the braces they should not pose any problem. Rubber bands may not be given all the cases, if you do have to get them, you can always remove them at will during the show. I would suggest you put off the braces treatment if your show is within a fortnight, if it is later you can go ahead, you will have sufficient time to get adjusted.
am a dentist
You won't get rubber bands until you're about halfway through with wearing your braces, so don't worry about that.
I got braces on while I was in a musical, and other than getting around the pain and my braces cutting my cheeks, I've been fine.
Now, if you played an instrument it might effect that a little bit at first, but if you're just singing you should be a-okay.
Also, yes, you could take off the rubber bands if you needed to(Although I don't think you'll get them right away)
They do effect your talking/singing while your getting used to them. and they can be a bit sore which would make it hard for you to use your mouth a lot. I would wait until after just so you can give your mouth time to relax and get used to your brace before you start singing again.
goodluck!

braces/rubber bands - 2 years. Off now:)
Braces won't but rubber bands will most likely impact your ability to open your mouth wide enough to make that possible. You should probably wait until after your show but if you want to get them now, you can always just remove the bands.
Yes it will.
