and sometimes when i eat food. Why do you think this is and what should i do?

Answers:

Although some people may experience more sensitivity in their gums than others, bleeding of the gums is usually an indication that gingivitis or periodontal gum disease is present. Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums and can be treated. If caught in the early stages, periodontal disease can also be treated to prevent further damage but, in many cases, it has progressed due to lack of proper oral hygiene and dental care. Of course, prevention is always the best course of action and proper dental care can prevent tooth decay and other conditions that may affect your teeth and gums. There are steps that you can take to prevent bleeding gums.

1
Brush your teeth daily. Ideally you should brush your teeth after each meal. If this is not always possible, brush your teeth in the morning on awakening and at night before retiring to bed. If you avoid brushing your teeth because of bleeding gums, realize that the less you brush your teeth the more damaging it is to both your teeth and gums. Switch to a softer toothbrush if necessary to decrease the chances of bleeding gums. But do continue to brush your teeth daily.

2
Floss daily. Flossing helps to remove plaque and bacteria that lodge between the teeth. When you do not floss, the plaque and bacteria build up causing damaging tooth decay and gum disease.

3
Drink plenty of water. Drinking water with your meal helps to wash food particles away and keep them from lodging in between teeth. This can be especially useful when you cannot brush your teeth immediately following a meal. So be sure to drink water with your meals to remove bacteria from teeth and gums.

4
Use a mouthwash daily. Using mouthwash can help to remove harmful bacteria from the mouth and also helps prevent the build up of plaque.

5
Limit your intake of sugar. Eat healthy and include lots of fresh fruits in your diet. Excess sugar found in sweet processed snacks and soda can cause unnecessary tooth decay.

6
Purchase an electric toothbrush and use it to massage your gums to strengthen them. An electric toothbrush is also more effective in removing plaque from the teeth.

7
Schedule regular appointments with your dentist to have your teeth cleaned. It is important to have your teeth cleaned twice a year. Practice good oral hygiene at home and keep all dental appointments for healthy teeth and gums.

Seems 2 b due to Gingivitis. Gingivitis is mostly due to plaque and calculus deposited on your teeth near the gums. This causes inflammation of the gums and causes bleeding on slight provocation. Its time to see your dentist for Scaling. You should go to your dentist for cleaning of your teeth atleast 2 times per year.

In your routine try to maintain your oral hygiene. Here are some tips for that.

MAINTANENCE OF PROPER ORAL HYGIENE:-

1. Brush you teeth with SOFT BRISTLE toothbrush 2 times daily.
2. Proper Brushing Technique is to brush your teeth VERTICALLY (up and down motion) than horizontally (motion while brushing to remove the bacterial plaque more efficiently and also to avoid injury to the gum and teeth in the long run.
3. Make sure that you brush ALL surfaces of your teeth.
4. After brushing don't forget to brush your tongue with the same brush which will prevent bad breath.
5. Apply gentle pressure to your teeth and tongue while brushing. Excessive pressure can injure soft tissues and may even cause abrasion (mechanical injury to the teeth due to excessive pressure and habit of brushing the teeth horizontally)
6. Ideally, brushing all the surfaces of teeth require atleast 4 mins.
7. After meals swish water in your mouth and remove the food particles attached to your teeth and gum.

Good Oral Hygiene is a key to keep your overall health better as many diseases start from mouth and may cause systemic problems. These 7 tips can save you from number of diseases which may cause serious complications in the long run. This also proves the proverb “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”

You probably have gingivitis and you have to get it treated because if you don't your gums can get swollen and 'eat up' you bone, that can't be regrown, and ultimately make your teeth loose. Maybe it's something milder than that but you only get one set of teeth and if you don't care for them properly they can cause you a million headaches my dear. just pay a little extra for a consultation at your dentist and get everything taken care of.

It sounds like gum disease but it's nothing to panic about if it hasn't been going on for too long.

Brush your teeth gently with a soft toothbrush. Maybe try a child's toothbrush and use corsodyl mouthwash a couple of times a day until it goes away. Also if you haven't seen your dentist for a while, now would be a good time to do so.

Corsodyl usually clears it up fairly quickly and you should stop using it once the problem has gone away as it can start to weaken your tooth enamel.

i would say you have really weak teeth as my teeth (gums) bleed when i brush my teeth to hard go and brush then now and try to miss the gum and just get the teeth and go slow let me know how you do. Also you can get sensitive tooth brushes that are really soft they are great .

It could be a gum disease. You need to book an emergency appointment with your local dentist and explain exactly what is happening. Keep note of how often it happens and tell all of this to the dentist. In the mean time, why not try mouthwash to minimize the pain? Hope I helped :D

I've had similar problems.

bleeding gums=periodontal disease...go and see your dental hygienist...the gums bleed because plaque(food)sits on the gums and irrates them, hence the bleeding..if you gums bleed-it indicates that you need to brush those areas more.

It's very common and happens to a lot of people but you need to get to dentist and talk to them about it and not try and find the answer on the internet.

You have gum disease. You need to floss twice a day, not only brushing your teeth! And when you brush, do it for at least 3 min

its because maybe you use hard toothbrushes or you brush you teeth forcefully. I suggest that you use soft toothbrushes

You need to go to the Dentist, and have your teeth cleaned, it sounds like you are starting to get gum disease.

You need to get your teeth cleaned at a dentist office. They havea dental hygenist that
