Child with Enamel Hypoplasia?!

Question: Child with Enamel Hypoplasia?
I'm pretty certain that my son has Enamel Hypoplasia and I was just curious if someone could give me any first hand insight on this. My son is two years old so I was just wondering what may have caused this, what steps I will have to be taking to fix this and if there are things I should avoid giving him like juice etc. After the weekend I will be making him an appointment with the dentist, but I just wanted to feed my curiosity before then. Thanks!

Answers:

Fortunately, enamel hypoplasia can usually be managed by restoring the affected enamel, following proper oral hygiene methods, receiving fluoride treatments and avoiding foods containing an excessive amount of sugar. If the EH is very mild, the dentist will generally fill in the pits or dents with a clear sealant. Another common treatment for this dental condition involves bonding a tooth-colored material to the tooth in order to protect it from further wear.
