also why did the doc say my cheek would be hurting after the novocain wore off but it didn't at all

Many patients will continue to feel pain after the Novocaine wears off, but not everyone does. I ate solid food the next day after my wisdom teeth were pulled. If your mouth bothers you, chew on the other side of your mouth. Make sure you keep the holes where the teeth were clean of food after you eat. You want to avoid any chance of infection. Once the holes heal up, that won't be a problem.
