Question: Can I get braces on before I get a root canal?
Well, its my daughter, and she really wants braces, but she's in need of a minor root canal.

There is no minor root canal requirement. Either a tooth requires it or it doesn't.

To answer your question, braces should go on only after all other dental diseases are corrected, such as gum disease, cavities, or infections (the reason to need a root canal). As an infected tooth moves through the bone, it can increase the severity of infection, lead to excess bone loss that causes mobility, and eventual loss of the tooth.

After the root canal is completed, you should verify with the dentist that it has healed before going ahead with orthodontic treatment.
