what foods should I not eat when waiting to get a cavity treated?!

Question: What foods should I not eat when waiting to get a cavity treated?
I'm in college in a small town where nobody takes my insurance. I live 2 hours from home. I just got back to college. A couple days ago before I left I had a dental cleaning and my dentist told me that I have a very bad cavity on one of my back molars. At this point she said I would probably just need a filling, but if I don't get it absolutely ASAP it will turn into a root canal. I'm trying to schedule an appointment back in the city where I live, but the soonest I can get back there is a couple weeks. I don't want these next couple weeks to make a difference between a filling and a root canal! please help! thanks!

I would definitely avoid sweets and soft drinks! Especially chocolate! And mountain dew and pepsi! Those two are like battery acid on your teeth is what my dentist said.

You should not eat any dog food.

Oh, come on. That was funny, kinda.
