Should I brush my teeth before eating breakfast?!

Question: Should I brush my teeth before eating breakfast?
Now of course I'll brush my teeth AFTER, but my friend told me I should do it before eating breakfast because if not, then I'll be eating the germs that have accumulating in my mouth while I sleep.

Answers:

How soon do you eat breakfast after waking up. If it is soon after waking it is ok to wait. Unless you plan on kissing someone, then you want to get rid of the "morning breath" as soon as possible.

If you eat like 2 hours or more after waking go ahead and brush. Brushing too often is never a bad thing.

As far as eating the germs that have accumulated in your mouth. chances are good they are already in your body and shouldn't hurt you. The rule of thumb is to brush after every meal. I hope this helps.

I am a dental assistant and mom of 2 adult kids.

I don't think you need to brush your teeth before and after. I use mouth wash before I eat, and then I brush after breakfast.

I hope this helped :)
