Will my teeth be rotten after I get my braces off?!

Question: Will my teeth be rotten after I get my braces off?
So I have had my braces for exactly one year now. I don't smoke or drink coffee But I haven't honestly been taking good care of them. In fact, I brushed them probably twice a week. I know, i know. The dentists even called my parents to tell them I need to brush better. They are yellow, but not tooo bad actually but not close to white. The past week I have brushed my teeth twice a week with a whitening paste, I plan from now on out to drink soda only once or twice a week, and when I do with a straw. I plan to brush my teeth two times a day with whitening paste and floss my teeth, and use mouth wash three times a week. I am also going to brush with crushed strawberries once a month. I get my braces off in like 10 months. So do you think if I keep up my new routine, My teeth will come out white?

P.s, My teeth are not already rotten, at all. I just dont want mine to be like that! Cause this girl at my school just got hers off, and she has black and yellow all over her teeth, its soo gross.

That's gross.

I don't think they'll be rotten yet, but they will have a calcium build-up on them, which is white.
Your dentist can take it off.

You need to start brushing more, and using a Waterpik.

I had my braces for a year and a half, and over the course of that time I literally brushed my teeth after every single meal. Yes, I know it's a difficult habit to get into it, but you always always have nice fresh breath, and when my braces came off, my teeth were perfect in every single way. Don't you want the same thing?

O, and mouth wash really isn't necessary, but if you're going to use it, be consistent and use it every day.

It is possible that there will be tiny white marks, but a cosmetic dentist can fix that. These marks are caused by decalcification. Worry not; it is not a big deal. And if your teeth are too yellow, just get them whitened for $100 by your local dentist.

I've never has braces. I thinkg that if you go with your new routine, everything will turn out fine. Tip: Use a spinbrush.

Yes... Everyone who had braces knows this.

oh my, twice a week?! yeah i think you should get started on that twice a day routine.. might be better for you.

Everyone can appreciate the beauty of a white smile. However, not that many people like all of the work that it takes to maintain a white smile. The fact is that everything we eat has an effect on the overall color of our teeth. There are a lot of reasons that people have stains and discoloration. Some is caused just by every day wear and tear of life (eating, drinking, and breathing). Other things that can cause teeth discoloration are coffee, tea, smoking, sugary foods and hereditary items. The good news is that there are steps that every person can take to brighten up their smiles. These are a few general teeth whitening suggestions.

First off, don't smoke. Quit if you already do. Nicotine plays an incredibly large role in the discoloration of teeth. Your teeth can quickly tell your secret obsession with cigarettes by their color. There is no treatment that can get rid of this if you are still smoking. Smoking is also bad for your lungs. It is also terrible for your cosmetic health too! There are absolutely no good that can come of smoking. Don't start smoking if you don't already and you want to keep a white smile.

It probable that you have already used one of the OTC products that can be purchased in your nearest drugstore. They are available with either whitening strips, gels or trays. Naturally, these products probably will not work like the ones that are used when you get your teeth professionally whitened. Of course, buying these products is going to be cheaper than making a dentist appointment and you can even use them at your easiest convenience. However, the products that will make your teeth brighter will cost more money than regular OTC oral products. You should also do some research on the different products that are available before you actually buy anything.

Brushing your teeth with teeth whitening toothpaste is one of the simpler ways to get brighter teeth. A lot of dentists do not tell you to use these toothpastes because they can be bad for your tooth enamel. But then again, these toothpastes do more to reduce discoloration than regular kinds of toothpaste. Utilize these kinds of toothpastes if you are upset about your teeth being a different color. As a matter of fact, many toothpastes have at least some type of whitening ingredient that can make your smile brighter. Having stained or discolored teeth is something no one wants. The good news is that there are plenty of things you can do so that your smile is beautiful again. Nobody should be embarrassed to smile openly. This answer has laid out a few suggestions to whiten your teeth that you can implement right away. With a little work you will certainly be able to discover even more ideas you can use to whiten your smile. The good thing is that both staining and discoloration can be fixed. Get yourself ready to proudly display your new, stunning teeth!

Why would you brush with crushed strawberries?! That sounds like a horrible idea! Do you know how much sugar is in fruit?? Is there something I'm missing? haha I'm confused.
Anyway, like someone else said, you may have some whiter areas on your teeth from where the brackets have been but you can get that fixed at the dentist. Flossing is extremely important, and while it's difficult to do with braces, still necessary! Keep up the brushing and mouth wash and you should be okay. I know when I had mine I didn't brush very well either! So no worries, mine came out alright :)
