Firstly your gum will be numbed using an injection of Local Anesthetic. The cavity will then be scraped away or drilled away, The decay is then cleaned out then the inside of the tooth is coated with a antiseptic paste. A filing is then placed inside the hole, usually a Silver amalgam filling. It is then smoothed over and the excess scraped off. It normally takes 20 minutes.
