How would a Dentist fix a chipped tooth?!

Question: How would a Dentist fix a chipped tooth?
My upper left very rear tooth has a chip in the bottom. It hurts like heck. How does a Dentist repair or fix the pain of a chipped tooth?

Answers:

If the chip is minor, and especially if it is not visible when the patient smiles, it can sometimes be fixed by filing down the surface to get rid of any roughness.

If the chip is in the front, or if it is large, it is usually necessary to place a crown on the tooth.

I hope this helps.
