What dental device is this?!

Question: What dental device is this?
I have an extreme overjet / bite, and my orthodontist said he will be useing a " mar " device, or somthing along those lines.

It brings my bottom jaw forward , and costs about 750 $ .

I googled it, and cannot seem to find it .
Did I hear wrong ? Do you know what device it could be ?

I have 8 spacers in my teeth as of now ...

Is he talking about a herbst ? Or TAP ?

Before I got braces I needed a appliance to pull my jaw outward to create more jaw bone in the back. I'm not sure what its called because they just called it an appliance. But here's a picture of what it looked like...

Here's a herbst appliance if you already have braces...

It could be called mandibular advancing device or z appliance. But it wasn't used to reduce snoring for me. It was, like I said, meant to pull my jaw outward because I too had an over bite and not enough jaw bone. Hope this helped!
