If a dentist breaks your tooth (one they're not working on) during a procedure, who pays for it? Will the dentist fix the tooth he/she broke for free?

S/he should, as they did the damage

You do. Obviously, you haven't been taking care of your teeth. That tooth was already compromised prior to the procedure due to cavity, cracks, large fillings, bad oral habits such as chewing on ice, etc. You know that a healthy tooth will not break that easily. If it does, then how can we eat and what do we chew with.? People can eat hard candy, tough meats, and bite into apples. If our teeth were not that hard, how and what can we eat? Just soup and liquids, huh?

He can or you can sue the dentist and get a lot more than a fixed tooth.
