sensitivity to ice and cold drinks 2 weeks after getting a filling, is this norm!

Question: Sensitivity to ice and cold drinks 2 weeks after getting a filling, is this normal?
I got a white filling done almost two weeks ago. It felt fine, but for the last couple of days ive been having sensitivity to cold in that area. I don't think it fell out because I would have felt the lump in my mouth. I can't look at the filling and tell if anything is wrong with it because its white and I really can't even tell which tooth its on, what should I do? is this normal or is it cracked or something and is there a way for my to see it better?

I go back to the dentist in a week for another filling on the other side of my mouth, will they fix it if something is wrong because last time they said I should only do one filling at a time. That side of my face was swollen from the needle they gave and I cant eat or function with both sides swollen

Hi Jane, Check with the dentist immediately. If the enamel has eroded it can too cause sensitivity, there are special tooth pastes available which can reduce sensitivity.

actually yes, it is very normal for sensitivity to occur after getting fillings done. try sensodyne toothpaste or when you go back to your dentist, ask them to put a fluoride varnish on your teeth that are sensitive to help. the sensitivity will go away eventually once your tooth kinda regenerates

Call your dentist before your next appt.
