What does it feel like to get your braces off?!

Question: What does it feel like to get your braces off?
I'm getting them off soon and I hear that the day I get my braces off is gonna be better than my birthday, Christmas AND Halloween put together.

Feel free to share your experience.

OMG it was an AMAZING feeling... it's really weird to run your tongue over your teeth for a while though, and actually touching your gums with your tongue without cutting it up into a million pieces is pretty amazing too. If you have "craters" (as I called them) on the inside of your cheeks, in the back of your mouth, from the skin being cut up by the anchors on your last teeth, they'll heal pretty quickly, and it really won't take you that long to go back to feeling normal. If you get a retainer, make sure you actually wear it though, (it will hurt for a while), or your teeth could shift around again.

Personal experience

Your teeth will feel very slimy for a while, so brush them hard and long and that will get rid of the sliminess. It feels really weird at first, but you will get used to it. Oh, and your teeth will have a yellowish tint for a while. But it feels amazing to have them taken off!

omg its so not as good as ur birthday christmas or....what the hell why ok its better than halloween LOL! Its good but not like the best thing that will ever happen to you haha. calm down there buddy :) but im happy for you :D

got them off last week x

REALLY WEIRD. right when I got them off and looked in the mirror I actually wanted them back on(haha weird I know) just because my teeth looked so weird right then. After a while though you'll absolutely love it! Good luck

I just got them off last year. I felt that. You will keep sliding your tongue over your slimy feeling teeth and you can't help it. It's like getting used to something you've been used to.

It feels like how it did before you had braces.

My guess is it will feel the same as it did before you got them put on.
