1)it can be green stick crack which the patient can not recognize the exact tooth.
2) if your tooth is sensitive to heat(bad prognosis; endodontics therapy is necessary) or cold(good prognosis ;still in initial stages of infectious) it can be a pulpitis(pulp irritation).
you need to go to the dentist for a root canal asap or else the infection will rot your bone,
same thing happened to me. just because you are not in extreme pain doesn't mean its not causing damage. i had that same problem and it turned out the infection ate a hole in my jaw bone and invaded the root of the next tooth and i had to have surgery to have it cleaned out because one day it didn't stop hurting and got worse and worse.
its only a matter of time.....
you need to find the money and get to the dentist or you will lose the tooth
Please provide the following

9. The severity of the pain on a scale of 1-10

floss and brush. let the toothpaste sit on teeth a minute before rinsing. fluoride is the only known thing that fights cavities. a dentist will see you immediately if you're in pain. the sooner you see a dentist, the easier and cheaper it will be to repair.
