What happens when you put a tooth in a glass of cola?!

Question: What happens when you put a tooth in a glass of cola?
My buddy told me about someone who had tried to put their tooth in a glass of cola, and after a day it had disappeared. I'm not sure if this is true.. Why don't you guys tell me and maybe explain the whole reaction?
Thx :)

Answers:

Cola is VERY acidic (Ph level of around 1.75 - battery acid is 1), and is very bad for your teeth for that reason. Yes it will eat the enamel off your teeth.
When I was a dental assistant we used to see enamel damage in kids who drank nothing but soda. The diet sodas are even worse.

Five years dental assisting, before becoming a scientist (nano-biomedical). Hey it was a good way to work through college.

Nothing happens. Tooth decay is caused by bacteria, NOT sugar. The bacteria feed and grow off the sugar. Sugar water alone will not decay teeth.

it dissolves after time
