My teeth are so discolored. Please help x?!

Question: My teeth are so discolored. Please help x?
My teeth are visibly yellow and its really bringing down my confidence :( i cant have a decent conversation with anyone because im too embarrassed about my disgusting teeth. I am only 16 and there really yellow. When i was younger i use to drink lots of tea and i didnt know that it could stain your teeth. I have tried lots of home remedies but they never work. Does anyone know any particular teeth whitening toothpaste that is useful. I've heard Blanx toothpaste is good so can anyone tell me about it. I cannot afford professional teeth whitening so to suggest that would be a waste of time. Please anyone help me its really bringing down my confidence. Ive had this problem for a couple of years now, normally I am a happy and talkative person but with my teeth like this ive changed and im really quiet now. please help me, thank you x

Floyd said it all!
But just to add the following;
1. Everyone has a different shade of white--forget the misleading adverts!
2. White looks "whiter" against a dark bark background-- that's why darker colored africans appear to have whiter teeth than whites-- simple color dynamics.
3. Within acceptable limits, the color of your teeth has nothing to do with who you are -- if you don't allow it, so chin up!
4. Whitening products work but don't expect magic
5. Talk to a dentist and get a frank evaluation of the situation.

Cheers!

Ok well firstly no one has proper white teeth there's usually a little yellow on them. I would advise Colgate 12 hour protection toothpaste and use Colgate mouthwash after brushing. and you could also get teeth whitening drops fairly cheap from like Superdrug or somewhere like that. And i don't think you should get Professional treatment because it damages the enamel on your teeth. Hope that helps :)

I suffer from the same problem1

Assuming that you are in the UK;
then
Take yourself down to Boots and purchase their 7 day whitening kit and get some whitening toothpaste. Infact, if you really don't want to spend alot of money then go down to poundland/pound, you can get whitening toothpaste from there, I've seen a great brand "Pearl Drops" 50ml bottle.

Just get everything whitening!
Whitening strips, whitening toothpaste (just go into your toothpaste aisle, you'll see many. Crest 3D white works well for me), whitening mouthwash!
With whitening mouthwash, Listerine worked great for me. My teeth just had a tint from braces, and I could visibly see them getting whiter. :)

Yellow teeth can destroy your confidence.
I use Rembrandt Plus toothpaste, and Five Minute bleaching paste with a tray. Neither are really expensive or bad for your teeth, and can be purchased at any pharmacy. Between those two things you'd never know that I'm 52 and drink four cups of coffee per day.

You can try tooth bleaching if you are not satisfied by any of the toothpaste products.
It can be done by a dentist and then there are in-home products too...
Google the term and u'll find more...

Want Whiter teeth and a brighter smile? Yes You Do! Everyone wants to have a bright white smile! Those movie stars on tv are always complaining about wanting better brighter smiles even though they already glow. This is completely within your control you can have brighter teeth. The majority of tooth discoloration depends on lifestyle choices, what you eat or drink and of course heredity as well. In this answer we will talk about some of the teeth whitening tips that you can start doing today!

The easiest way to get a whiter smile is to have your smile professionally whitened by your dentist. The dentist has products and treatments that you can only get from him that will really whiten your smile by a few shades. If you are worried about teeth stains and the coloring of your teeth, a professional teeth whitening appt can turn back the effects of discoloration. For a couple of people this is their best bet because it works quickly and last for a long period. You probably already know the benefits of baking soda when it comes to the health of your teeth and gums. You've probably seen the baking soda toothpastes at your local Target or Walgreens. Baking soda is an excellent way to brighten your smile. Rock salt and baking soda mixed together can make your teeth whiter when you brush with them. Leave it on for a minute or two and then rise your mouth out really really well. The only thing you might encounter is the horrible taste of the baking soda. It's really bitter and difficult to handle. It is fantastic for teeth whitening and overall dental care, however.

If everything that you have tried so far to brighten your smile has been less than effective, then one option might be professional cosmetic dentistry. If your smile is embarrassing, then you should consider having veneers put in. Veneers help improve the overall appearance of your smile without requiring any permanent commitment (unlike implants or dentures). If it is necessary you can have your veneers removed at a later time. Remember, cosmetic dentistry should be used as a last resort and only on a healthy mouth. It can't replace good oral hygiene and regular dental care.

There are all sorts of teeth whitening tips that you can use to brighten your smile.

Basic oral care is far more effective than any quick-fix treatment that is promoted online, a fact you should remember. Luckily, you can implement many preventative teeth whitening ideas that will help you keep your smile bright. If you follow the tips laid out in this answer, for example, your smile could be brighter in no time!

Hello, Ok,first, it's very doubtful that the color issue you have with your teeth is actually related to tea drinking, very doubtful. Second, the color issue may be deep in the teeth and if that is the case, home whitening will not affect the color. Your teeth are made up of three specific layers of material. The outside is the Enamel and it's color can be anywhere between "clear" to "white" to "bluish"..the next layer below the enamel is the Dentine and it's color can range from tan to yellow to lite yellow to dark yellow. Under that is the Pulp and it's color will be between Reddish Pink, to Pink to lite Pink.....When you smile or laugh the outside light penetrates through the tooth and bounces back off the Pulp...As it bounces back it picks up the shades of the Dentine and the Enamel... The density of all three colors will determine what color the tooth is as the blended colors exit the enamel of the tooth. If the middle layer, the Dentine, happens to be extra dark, it's very unlikely any home method of whitening your teeth will be possible....Third, let me suggest that you call the "Out Patient Clinic" of the nearest Dental School...The "Clinic" provides all kinds of dental services to the public and the fee will be between Free and very low depending on your financial status..Good luck and I wish you well.
