My partner grinds his teeth in his sleep?!

Question: My partner grinds his teeth in his sleep?
This happens about 15 to 20 minutes after he falls asleep and last for about a minute, sometimes he does it two or three times. Also if he wakes up in the middl of the night then as soon as he goes back to sleep he grinds his teeth. What causes this? And how can we stop it? I try to nudge him, I usually end up covering up his mouth or moving his jaw around it is so annoying and gives me the chills sometimes lol. Thanks.

Answers:

He needs to get fitted for a mouth guard from a dentist. A few years of tooth grinding can be very detrimental to teeth.

He should talk to his dentist. Tooth grinding can be destructive, resulting in cracked or worn-out teeth. A mouth-guard can be prescribed that will eliminate the noise & protect the bite.

He's probably cold or has a light fever.

get him a mouth guard and be prepared for drool
