temporary crown came off and have I done the right thing?!

Question: Temporary crown came off and have I done the right thing?
Hello
I had my tooth prepared for a crown Friday just gone and had a temp crown fitted. I was brushing my teeth today and the temp crown popped off and it is still whole. I filled it with toothpaste and pushed it back on again and it fits properly again. I cannot remember what the dentist said about if it fell off etc as I was sedated.I just remember something about toothpaste. Should I go and see him tomorrow and get it stuck on properly again as I still have 2 weeks before my proper crown will be ready?

How can I stop it happening again? Not brush the temp crown? I have been eating on other side etc. Will I be charged for having my temp crown refitted?

Thanks

Answers:

I would go back to check. You could phone them and ask them if the toothpaste will work, but it won't be a problem for them to fix it back in again. There shouldn't be a charge, either.

Still, treat it with care, though. Since it is temporary, it won't be designed to last. I know with my first crown, I was making daily trips to the dentist to get it stuck back in (well, not quite daily, but it felt like it!).

Return to the dentist, and you won't be charged.
