Question: I'm being made to go to dentist today but i'm REALLY SCARED of them, what can I do to get out of it?
Basically, I need as many ways as possible to get out of going to the dentist. I'm so scared of them. Please help me!! Please be quick though cause it's later today! Thanks y'all.

You really should go - cancelling at this late stage may well incur a charge, which can be fairly steep (I got charged £20 when I cancelled at short notice, even though I had a very, very good reason. Which means my treatment will cost me £20 more than it would have done!).

Many dentists are aware that some of us are really scared to go, so tell them of your fears and they should be able to make things easier and put you at ease. Also, do whatever you can to relax as much as possible - getting wound up about it will only make it worse. I know it is hard to do, but try!

I am not best pleased to go to the dentist - I am about to go there myself shortly. I am pretty nervous, to say the least, especially after my last visit (I'll not go into that!), but what I am doing is sitting here quietly just now with some lavender essential oil wafting about the place. This usually calms me down greatly (lavender is great for calming, although you shouldn't use it if you are pregnant (I'm not, so I'm fine to use it)). It is working a bit, I'm still a bit nervous, but I will go - tooth pain is worse!

Okay so listen here... I had a huge phobia of the dentist and like you i would have done anything to get out of it.. I spent 10 years avoiding them like the plaque and boy did i pay for it chronic toothache for 5 years and it took 15 mins to extract... In the last month i have had 8 fillings... 8 FILLINGS!!!! and i have more to go... so honestly here is your choice let it go the way i did or try your very best to face the fear.... Maybe a sedative will help. Don't hide that your afraid statistics show that ovr 40 percent of people are afraid of dentists. Tell the dentist when you go in your afraid and why and then they will try and work with you.... by the way check up's and x rays are easy peasy :) Good luck and i hope you make the right choice.

Just go. Its a little uncomfortable, but its much worse to have tooth problems. Just envision a mouth full of rotten, brown-grey teeth with half of them missing, which is what happens to people who never see a dentist. Its much better to face a little discomfort than have a bunch of disgusting mouth problems.

It's not as bad as you think its going to be. All they do is brush your teeth! And take x-rays that take like 2 seconds and don't hurt! Don't be a wimp. :)
but if you are really gonna be a wimp, say you have an extremely bad sore throat.

Its pretty cool cause you leave with this feeling that your mouth is really clean. But if u have cavities it will kinda suck cause they proably will haveta rip all your teeth out and replace them with cool gold ones

Ima dentist

Are you serious? It isnt like there going to drill your teeth out, just man up and go.
