I already have braces and i got 2 top teeth pulled out yesterday, is this normal!

Question: I already have braces and i got 2 top teeth pulled out yesterday, is this normal ? will my face change ?
When they put them on they didn't want to remove some of my teeth, i got them on in november but they said my teeth haven't really moved. (my teeth are somewhat overcrowded) And i got 2 top teeth pulled out, i believe they pulled out my first bicuspids. they ones behind the canine teeth. Is this normal ?
how long will it take for the hole to close ?
My dentist said about 2 months but other people online say longer.
i read someone said your face will change, is this true ?

Answers:

i would trust your dentist and orthodontist they're probably more likely to be right. Also, its common to have your teeth pulled one of mine were and my friend's were.

How long it will take the "holes" to close will depend on how much excess space there is and that will vary with different patients so there is no set amount of time that applies to everyone.

When front teeth are retracted to close gaps it will definitely cause a change in your face. How much change will depend on how much the teeth are pulled back. Front teeth help provide proper lip support and commonsense will tell you that if teeth are moved back towards your throat, lip support diminishes. This creates what is called a dished-in profile or concave appearance around the mouth area. In a majority of cases this makes the facial profile worse.

Of all the disadvantages of premolar extraction, the one you really need to be concerned about is whether you will develop a TMJ disorder. Google that to see what you may be in for. As soon as you start to have clicking and popping of your jaws tell your orthodontist as soon as possible. A common response from traditional orthodontists is that TMJ and orthodontics are totally unrelated so don't buy that because there is definitely a direct relation.
