TOOTH EXTRACTION (eating, smoking etc)?!

Question: TOOTH EXTRACTION (eating, smoking etc)?
So I'm pretty much going f***ing crazy.
I'm a smoker and want a cigarette but I'm not gonna risk getting dry socket unless someone informs me of a safe way to go about this.
I got my tooth removed at like, 3 PM on Saturday (Today is Monday)
My boyfriend and I wanna get some dinner but I've been told different things about what I can and can't eat. I'm not in any pain and haven't needed my pain pills since yesterday.
My breath smells even after brushing, flossing and gargling with salt water. WTF.
Anyone have any advice? And don't you dare tell me to not smoke. I am an adult and am well aware that cigarettes are not good for me. I can make my own decisions. Take your judgmental opinion elsewhere. Thank you.

Answers:

I'm a dental assistant, and we pull teeth all day long, always tell people not to smoke for 3 to 5 days, the smoke irrates the extraction site, causing it to heal more slowly, and the force of sucking on the cig can force the blood clot out of the site, the clot is the only thing protecting the bone from being exposed, when air gets on the bone its very painful, thus you have a dry socket....but i'd say if you pack a peice of gauze in there when you smoke and then gently pull it out when your done, then genly rinse your mouth you should be ok, and as far as food goes...i wouldnt run out and eat a steak or anything, anything soft...even a sandwich would be fine...good luck to ya

Yea it's ok to smoke and make sure that you drink from a straw especially carbonated beverages. "No I am just kidding" you do not want a dry socket. I had one about 10 years ago, it happened after the dentist was closed for the weekend. It was much worse than the tooth ache. The following Monday the dentist had to go in and scrape the hole out and repack. I suggest that you suffer for another day or just try to quit smoking for good. Take care

The nasty taste is normal. I had that when I had my wisdom teeth removed. If your incisions don't hurt, you should be fine as far as food. If anything bothers you while you are eating it, I would stop. I was a smoker when I had my teeth removed too, and I was fine smoking 2 or 3 days after.

I would say don't smoke just yet.
Wait until at least a week.
Because it might not be closed up all the way and then it can get infected.
So just wait until a week.
I've been told that dry socket HURTS BADLY.
and you don't want that.
so try to hold off of it for at least a week.
It would be much better if you waited for it to completely heal.

my mom got a tooth extraction and shes also a smoker
dontttttt drink hot stuffff! it made her like stitches or whatever they are (the hard plastic strings keeping the hole shut for now) melt! and they were really pointy!

((HI))

My name is((ashraf,)) I am frome egabt ),

I’ve seen many places of the world on TV screen and few that I’ve visited either for fun or/and business

As you know when we travel we meet a lot of different cultures and people,

I found in many places I’ve been to; that people stereotyped Islam (that's my religion) they prejudge Muslims from what they see in media incidents.

Allow me to share with you here some information about Jesus Christ,

Muslims believe in Jesus Christ (peace and blessings of (Allah = God) be upon Him as one of the mightiest messengers from (Allah=God),

We believe he is born miraculously by the word of Allah without Father

Like ADAM Been created without father nor mother,

And Marry (mar yam) is his mother the pious, pure female may Allah be pleased with her,

In fact there is a chapter in Quraan titled Marry

Let me quote here these verses:

“BEHOLD! THE ANGELS SAID: O MARY! GOD HATH CHOSEN THEE AND PURIFIED THEE –

CHOSEN THEE ABOVE THE WOMEN OF ALL NATIONS ”

And this Verse About Jesus:

“HE SHALL SPEAK TO THE PEOPLE IN CHILDHOOD AND IN MATURITY, AND SHALL BE (OF THE COMPANY) OF THE RIGHTEOUS.”

If this is a Quiz asking you where these Divine verses come from the Bible Torah or elsewhere?

THE Answer for your information it is from Quraan 3:45,46

This shows how much we need to know about what others believe.

Hello, Ok "food"...keep it soft for now like meatloaf, pasta and veggies....You can of course drink food supplement drinks as well. You should be able to resume a regular diet by the end of the week. "Do Not" use Hot packs, use cold packs if you use any at all. The issues with Cigarettes and the extraction has nothing to do with the medical fact they can cause cancer, it has to do with the "sucking" or vacuum if you will. Creating a sucking affect can dislodge the blood clot in the extraction site and thus cause a dry socket...Same goes for drinking through a straw or pop bottles. Rinse with warm 10% salt water mix three times a day and you will do fine. OH yes, extraction sites, regardless of how many, takes between 5 and 6 months to totally heal. You will not feel the healing affect after about two weeks but it's happening nevertheless less. The extraction sites change size and shape during the healing process. Good luck and I wish you well.
