Question: Oral surgery today. 6 teeth!!!?

M having 6 extractions all at once sliced pulled and stitched I'm worried about the pain afterwards. From reading, everyone says the dentist gives you enough pain meds for 4 days, that's usually if you can sleep at night. My dentist is 3 hrs away. What if I'm still hurting after that amount of time. I ask this because I've had this done before on my top teeth and recovery wasn't fast..

Tell your dentist that your past recovery was slow and you were in lots of pain, and ask if he can prescribe you with a weeks worth of pain meds just in case.

I had this done before, 4 wisdom teeth plus 2 others, plus I had to have my jawbone filed down...no fun! The pain was not too bad and I just took Tylenol to deal with it (I had a small baby and didnt want to be wiped out by anything stronger). There was mostly swelling and a bit of throbbing, but nothing too bad. Hope you feel better soon!

If that happens to be the case you can always call the dentist. They should have a answering service even if they are not open, and they can call the pharmacy that u go to in your area.
