Anyone know what this is? or a cure?!

Question: Anyone know what this is? or a cure?
For the past week or so, I've felt like there is something stuck in the back of throat, kinda like when you vomit and get that little piece of food stuck there. At first I tried to cough what ever it was up, but that did not work, then tried to drink something but some go. Finally after a week of this annoying feeling, I to a flash light and tried to see if I could find it. I saw nothing but I did find that when my uvula touched the back of my throat, I got a similar feeling. I've never had this before though so I don't know if it is that, or simply something farthing down than i can see (it feels farther back than my uvula). I googled it, but the only things I can find on swollen uvula are stuff about drinkers or smokes (which I am not at all), neither am I or have I recently been sick. Another thing I HAVE realized though is when I wake up the last few days, my throat is burning, not like a sore throat would, but closer to "Dry" like you would feel if you didn't blink for a long time, that feeling.

Does anyone know what the really cause of this is? and anyway to cure it?

Hello
I had this a couple of weeks ago and it felt like food was stuck in the back of my throat and my throat felt slightly sore and I went to be dentist to have a crown fitted and asked him about the weird throat feeling. He had a look and said there are lymph nodes at the back of the throat near the base of your tongue and they can swell up when you have an infection, they are fighting off something and hence swell. I had a sore throat a couple of weeks before so that is why mine were swollen. The dentist showed me with a mirror. I could see it looked swollen at the back of my throat. Maybe your body is fighting something off you are unaware of, something minor that you do not know about. Mine got better in about 1 week.

Another thing it could be is a gastric problem like gallstones or liver stones blocking a common duct. Other things it may be is a hernia or acid reflux. I am thinking yours is more gastric as you say you have not been ill and the burning sensation sounds gastric. Acid maybe coming up from your tummy into your throat when you are sleeping and that would burn the throat and give the burning feeling you say about. It would also make you feel like food is stuck. My father in law has acid reflux from a hiatus hernia. He takes Meds for it to stop the acid. he can control it very well and is fine. He had symptom of a variant of acid reflux disease called laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and he has to avoid certain foods too.

You need to go and see your doctor and find out what is going on with your digestion as I think that is what is causing it.

Hope you find out what it is and get it treated soon.
Take care

Goting a similar feeling is a brilliant idea

acid reflux. don't eat within 3-4 hours of sleep. try an antacid and a little water before bed.
