Dental Crown Queston....?!

Question: Dental Crown Queston....?
Okay so i had this very very small part of a crown (it wasnt even a whole crown) but it came off at the dentist office. I showed the assistant, but it looked like she was clueless and had no idea what happened. So she just said okay. So whats going to happen next? Also i'm terrified of the dentist. I used to like the dentist but ever since i got a rooth canal im terrified! Im not scared of the pain im scared of how my teeth would look after. So plss help me with my fear and my crown prob. Serious answers only! Thanks! :)

Its hard to be clear exactly wether you mean a veneer - a small piece of porcelain which covers part of your tooth, or if you just mean that a small part of your crown broke off.

Either way there's nothing to worry about.

The dentist is going to need to repair your tooth. If it's a veneer he *might* be able to stick it back on.

If you've broken a crown he'll need to replace it.

The worst that will happen is that the dentist will have to clean up the tooth (painless) and take an impression of your mouth (slightly uncomfortable as you will have a mouth full of gunk for a few minutes til it sets). Then thats it really. You come back and he'll glue it on for you.

Speaking as a dental technician you really dont need to be worried about how your teeth will look - theres nothing that cant be fixed and all the technicians I know take pride to the point of competetiveness in how good they can make a crown or bridge look.

tl;dr dont worry it can be fixed and its unlikely to be more than slightly uncomfortable for a very short time.
